We understand that visitors' providing information about themselves is an act of trust, and we treat this trust very seriously. Accordingly, The Fletcher-Terry Company (Fletcher-Terry) uses information privacy practices in connection with information gathered online from visitors to its web site based on the concepts of notice, choice, and security. "Notice" refers to the disclosure of the information we may gather from visitors, how we may use it, and how we protect it. "Choice" refers to visitors' ability to restrict how we use the information gathered from them. "Security" refers to precautions taken to ensure the information is accessed and used only in accordance with this privacy statement.
Fletcher-Terry only collects information provided by visitors voluntarily. In connection with certain visits to its web sites (e.g., requests for information, sweepstakes entries), Fletcher-Terry will ask the visitor for, and store, Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as the visitor's name, company, residential address, telephone number, e-mail address, or other contact information.
Fletcher-Terry uses "cookie" technology to simplify visitors' interactions with its web site. A cookie is a very small amount of information that is placed on each visitor's computer hard drive by his/her browser on Fletcher-Terry's behalf. It is sent by the visitor's browser back to Fletcher-Terry when the visitor returns.
When a visitor first visits a Fletcher-Terry web site, Fletcher-Terry will store a code identifying the referral source (but no PII) in a cookie. In the case of visiting a Fletcher-Terry web site via a Fletcher-Terry e-mail communication, the code stored in the cookie allows us to link that visit and certain subsequent visits back to the e-mail communication. The visitor may always choose not to receive a cookie by enabling his/her web browser to refuse cookies or to prompt the visitor before it accepts a cookie. By refusing to accept a cookie, the visitor may be asked to enter certain information each time he/she accesses certain areas of the web site. We do not regularly track visitors' use of the site, but on occasion, for marketing purposes, may review specific paths that a customer or an aggregate of customers may have traveled through the site.
All web servers log certain technical information from visitors each time they request a page. This information is collected from each visitor's web browser and may include his/her IP address, operating system, web browser software (i.e. Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer), and referrer web site. We may aggregate such logged information anonymously to assist in designing enhanced user experiences and easier access to our information and services.
We may ask visitors to provide certain PII in order for us to:
- provide answers to questions;
- provide information about changes to our products, services or business;
- be able to notify visitors of new products or services;
- support visitors in evaluating and using our products;
- allow visitors to enter occasional sweepstakes and/or participate in other promotional events we conduct; and
provide other information that we believe may be of interest to visitors.
We may combine aspects of visitors' PII with those of groups of other visitors to our site to prepare collective profiles, for use in marketing activities, for describing our company and its services to prospective partners, investors, and other third parties, and for other lawful purposes.
Fletcher-Terry does not sell or rent visitors' PII to anyone.
Fletcher-Terry may share visitors' PII with authorized Fletcher-Terry agents, but we do not share visitors' information with other third parties, with the following possible exceptions:
Fletcher-Terry may on occasion, partner with another company to offer a joint promotion that requires the submission of PII. This PII will be shared with the partner and in that case the PII shared with a partner will be subject to the privacy rules of that partner. In any case where this sharing will take place, Fletcher-Terry will make clear during the marketing of the promotion that sharing of PII will take place.
Fletcher-Terry may be required by law or regulation to disclose information, and we may also disclose information if we believe, in good faith, that the disclosure will help to protect the rights of others or prevent harm.
Visitors may indicate their preferred restrictions on our use of their PII by filling out the Privacy Form on our web site. Visitors may also indicate their preferences by contacting us by e-mail at privacy@Fletcher-Terry.com. Please note that e-mail may take longer to process than the web form. In that e-mail, we ask that visitors indicate which of the following options they prefer:
- Fletcher-Terry should not send postal mail with product information, newsletters, or other technical, marketing, sales or promotional information.
- Fletcher-Terry should not send electronic mail with product information, newsletters, or other technical, marketing, sales or promotional information.
- Fletcher-Terry should not contact me by telephone with product information, newsletters, or other technical, marketing, sales or promotional information.
- Fletcher-Terry should not send me any information about third-party products and services.
In all cases, Fletcher-Terry reserves the right to contact existing customers with important information about updates to existing products.
To request access to, or notify us of changes to, PII we have collected, visit the Privacy Form on our web site or contact us at privacy@Fletcher-Terry.com. We will confirm any such requests via e-mail or other writing.
We restrict access to any PII stored on our systems to authorized uses only. Regardless of any such precautions taken in good faith by visitors or by us, security on the Internet is imperfect, and we cannot warrant the protection of any information visitors transmit to us, which visitors do voluntarily and at their own risk
Visitors must be aware that, if at any time a Fletcher-Terry web site has links to other web sites that do not operate under our information privacy practices, when the visitor clicks through to such other sites, Fletcher-Terry's information privacy practices no longer apply. Visitors should examine the privacy statements for all third-party web sites to understand their procedures for collecting, using, and disclosing visitors' information.
From time to time, Fletcher-Terry may engage the services of a third-party marketing organization (e.g., a "direct mail house"). Third parties, including marketing organizations, maintain their own information privacy practices, which Fletcher-Terry does not control. This may result in visitors receiving technical, marketing, sales and/or promotional information from such an organization, even if they indicated to Fletcher-Terry their preference not to receive that information. In such an instance, visitors may wish to contact the Direct Marketing Association (www.the-dma.org/consumers).
This Privacy Statement was put in force on March 1st, 2004. Fletcher-Terry reserves the right to modify or amend this Privacy Statement at any time and for any reason. If we make any significant changes to our information privacy practices, Fletcher-Terry will post notice of the change on www.Fletcher-Terry.com for at least three months after any such significant change is implemented.
Questions about our Privacy Statement will be answered if submitted to us at privacy@Fletcher-Terry.com.
